Understanding Fit and Roll Type

All three options provide a complete light-proof solution, using a fully tracked pelmet and side channel system.

Your choice is a simple decision between aesthetics (the final look) and function (clearing any window obstructions).

Recess Fit — Forward Roll

What it is: The tracks and pelmet are mounted at the front of the window recess, sitting flush with the wall.

Choose this if: You need to clear obstructions inside the recess, such as window winders or large handles. Aesthetically, it provides a very clean, flush finish with the surrounding wall.

Recess Fit — Rear Roll

What it is: The tracks and pelmet are mounted deep inside the window recess, close to the window glass.

Choose this if: You have a clear recess with no obstructions (like handles). This style creates a clean, built-in appearance and leaves your internal windowsill space free.

Face Fit

What it is: The entire system is mounted on the wall or architrave around the window opening.

Choose this if: Your window recess is too shallow for recess fit, or you have large obstructions. This provides the same blockout by covering the entire frame. Face Fit has one roll type — no roll direction choice needed.

Choose Your Frame Colour

Choosing Your Frame Colour

This colour selection applies to all the visible aluminium components of your blind's full frame system.

The frame includes:

The top Headbox (or hoodbox) that houses the blind roller.
The Left and Right Side Rails that the fabric glides within.
The Bottom U-Channel.

This complete frame ensures no light bleeds around the edges of the fabric, providing the perfect blackout effect.

Tips for selecting a colour

To blend in: Match the frame colour to your existing window trim or frame. White is the most popular choice for standard white window frames.
To create a contrast: Choose Black or Monument to make a design statement — a dark frame frames the view outside when the blind is open.
Monument colour: A popular contemporary dark charcoal grey, matching the Colorbond® Monument colour used on many modern window frames, roofs, and gutters in Australia.

Select the desired colour for your blind's frame.
